STEM: science, technology, engineering and math, is vital to the success of educating today's students, especially girls. Mrs. Maxine Willis began the STEM Savvy Club at GAHS for females only. Today it is continued with the mentorship of Mrs. Kristen Bechtel. Recently the YWCA of Gettysburg/Adams County awarded a $10,000 grant to the club for continuation of its work.
In October, these women together with students of the club and Ms. Sue Pitzer of the YWCA have been invited to share their expertise at the Pennsylvania School Board Association School Leadership Conference in Hershey, PA. This video will be used as part of the demonstration.
